Slaughter export process
From the Australian farm to an approved abattoir — every consignment moves through the same approved chain.

ESCAS & approved supply chains
The Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS) is an Australian Government regulatory framework for the export of live feeder and slaughter livestock. It helps ensure Australian livestock continue to receive appropriate care and are handled and processed responsibly after arrival in the importing country — giving international buyers confidence that Australian livestock are managed through approved supply chains with a strong focus on animal welfare, traceability and accountability.
How ESCAS works
Before export, an approved supply chain is established between the Australian exporter and overseas partners. After arrival, livestock move only through approved facilities where ESCAS applies, supporting responsible management and compliance.
Benefits for international buyers
